Rev Henry Ng (Pastor-at-large/Counselling)

“Be a good student of the Word of God and of the human heart.”

Rev Henry Ng has been pastoring The People's Bible Church (TPBC) since 1983. He came to know the LORD on 3rd Sep 1966. In 1970 he came to TPBC, then known as Toa Payoh Bible Church, and was one of the pioneer members of the Church.

He graduated from the Singapore Polytechnic with a diploma in Mechanical Engineering in 1972, and after a missions conference he felt called to full-time ministry in 1979. He graduated from the Singapore Bible College in 1983 with a Bachelor's degree in Theology, and became the first pastor of the English congregation in June 1983.

In July 1983 he married his wife, Irene, and they have two daughters, Amanda and Beatrice (Amanda is married in June 2008, and Beatrice has been accepted by Western Seminary, Portland, Oregon, for her MA in Counselling programme).

Pst Henry has completed his Master in Counseling programme at Western Seminary in December 2005. He was the Senior Pastor of TPBC from 1994 to 2009.

Rev Joshua Lim Boon Siang (Evangelism, Community Participation & Missions)

“To invest my life in others for the sake of the Gospel”

Joshua Lim accepted Christ in 1965. He was one of the pioneering members of TPBC in 1970. He graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Production Engineering in 1972. He married Ruth Chua in 28 May 1980, who had served closely with him as a lay-leader. In that same year, he responded to the Lord’s call to serve in the ministry of the Gospel. He entered Singapore Bible College in 1981 and graduated with a Bachelor of Theology in 1985. Their only son, Isaac, was born in 6 August 1985.   After graduation, he served as a Missions Coordinator at the Christians Nationals Evangelism Commissions and also as one of the pastors of TPBC. From 6 Sept.1987 to Nov. 2000, he pioneered a Church called Faith Missions Church with 40 members from TPBC. Through their missionaries, Joseph and Lynette Yap, he had the privilege of establishing a Bible School in the Philippines with the aim of ‘training the poor to reach the poor.’ By the year 2000, 16 persons had been trained for pastoral and Church-planting ministries.

Joshua had obtained his Masters of Divinity from SBC in 1991, and he is now back serving the Lord in TPBC. He hopes to revive an interest in making disciples in TPBC and also in sending out missionaries from the Church.

Rev Jerry Goh - On Study Leave

“Realizing the great need and urgency of reaching out to the elderly and having been given a strong burden from the Lord, I seek to be further equipped for greater effectiveness in reaching and following up the elderly.”

Jerry Goh accepted Christ on 23 Oct 1973. He graduated from the Singapore Polytechnic in 1984 with a Diploma in Mechanical and Production Engineering and worked as a training officer at VITB. In June 1988, Jerry and Evelyn were married. They are parents of three children, Geraldine, Jensen and Joelene.

In July 1989, he entered Singapore Bible College where he completed a Bachelor of Theology degree in May 1993. He has served in both the youth (SF) and young adults (YA) ministries. Since 1996, burdened for the salvation of the elderly, he spent time visiting church members’ parents to pray and share the gospel with them. A number of them were saved. In 1998, Jerry sensed the need for further training to effectively minister to the elderly. Hence he left for further studies to Logos Evangelical Seminary in California and returned in 2000.

After serving several years in our Elderly ministry, he went to Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky, USA, in 2005 to do his 4-year doctoral degree in missiology.

Pst Goh Hiap Siang (Young Adults Ministry)

“To worship and obey the Lord Jesus and teach His Word.”

Goh Hiap Siang came to know the Lord in 1982 through a tract that was given to him. A friend in school later invited him to TPBC in 1983.

Before Hiap Siang joined the pastoral ministry full-time, he was working as an engineer doing design and development work. Through the many years of involvement in TPBC’s ministry, his love for God and His Word grew, leading him to the decision to full time service so he could devote himself to learn and teach God’s Word.

He graduated from Singapore Bible College in 2002 with a Master of Divinity degree. He is currently serving as the Young Adults ministry pastor.  He married his wife, Angie, in 2002, and they have 3 children (son Justin, daughter Anna, and another son, Asher).

He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree during his Sabbatical leave.
