| The Students Fellowship (SF) was formed in 1981 with the purpose of meeting the needs of about 40 youths. Since then, the ministry has been led by various teams of dedicated adults who acted as spiritual mentors to the youths and overseers of the programmes organized by the youths themselves. The underlying conviction of this ministry is that youths are capable of exercising spiritual discipline and commitment and therefore can experience transformation through the ministry of Gods Word. At present, members of the Students fellowship meet at 9:30am every Sunday except the first Sunday where they will join in the main service for the Holy Communion. They worship God in songs and are separated to Junior SF (Sec 1-2) and Senior SF (Sec 3 to JC/Poly) to have their message or workshop following it. Since we see the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20 as comprising of two parts- evangelism and nurture, we have structured our ministry to incorporate both essential elements. In the area of evangelism, friendship evangelism is constantly emphasized whereby they are challenged to reach out to their classmates and friends through building rapport with them and bearing a good testimony. We help them see that their schools are their harvest fields. In the area of nurture, a network of Bible-study groups comprising one to three persons under a leader is the hallmark of the Students Fellowship ministry. Our motto: Life to life impartation of Gods truths is derived from 2 Timothy 2:2. The youths are trained through the use of a systematic curriculum in which memorizing verses is an integral part of it. It is not just merely a transmission of knowledge and content; it is highly relational and involves pacesetting by the leaders as well. |
