Mission

Missions has always been God’s heart-beat and hence must continue to be ours too. It is a vital part of fulfilling God’s desire that all mankind might one day acknowledge Him as Lord and give Him glory and honour. The vision of “a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language” standing before the heavenly throne worshipping the Lamb (Rev 7:9) provides the motivation to challenge, mobilize and involve the church in missions. For it is the task of the whole church to bring the whole gospel to the whole world. We seek to move the church towards missions in three key aspects:

INFORMATION about MISSIONS:

  1. Provide information of our own missionaries, other missionaries/ministries supported by the Church
  2. Provide Information to Cell Groups and Church Congregation
  3. Getting the church to pray for missions (the first step in involvement).

INSPIRATION towards MISSIONS:

  1. Through the annual Missions Month, which has been a useful means of highlighting missions on a church-wide and concentrated basis. All groups in the church, namely Children Ministry, Students Fellowship, Young Adults, Adults will have the same emphasis during that month, with each group involved in highlighting missions in their own ways.
  2. Through Prayer and Praise: Missions to be given special focus on a quarterly basis.
  3. Through highlighting Mission trips by members, soliciting prayer and allowing them to share their experiences after their trips.
  4. Through hearing from missionaries from various ministries.
  5. Through reading/hearing of good Mission articles, books& tapes or CDs.
  6. Through articles in our newsletter, “The Commission” or periodic inserts on Sunday.
  7. Through good Mission Seminars/Conferences.

INVOLVEMENT in MISSIONS:

  1. Sending career missionaries
  2. Encourage/Facilitating of Mission Trips by Members for exposure
  3. Support Members going for Mission Trips:
  4. Strengthen and Deepen our existing links: “Bridge-People”, Thailand (CCT), Bayanihan (Philippines), East Asia.
  5. Exploring New Opportunities (overseas and local)
  6. Networking with other churches in missions.

And because Mission interest is better caught than taught, we plan to step up our Mission involvement through various Mission trips, both overseas and local in the coming year.
