Home Cells

The home cells constitute a very vital element in TPBC’s quest to provide an environment conducive for the spiritual growth of the members. Currently, we have 20 cells, consisting of 6-15 members meeting in homes all over Singapore during the week days.

1. The Purpose of the Home Cells:

a. Edification of Members (Qualitative Growth):

  • Opening of lives to the Word (Bible Study)

  • Opening of lives to one another (“Sharing, Caring, Bearing” of lives)

b. Evangelism by Members (Quantitative Growth):

  • Outreach to friends, family, neighbours

  • Supporting Church-wide outreach events

  • Special outreach projects by the group

2. Every Member in Home (or Small) Cells
We seek to get every member to be involved in a home (or small) cell where he or she or their respective families are comfortable with. This will also provide them with the opportunities for spiritual growth and service to the others in that cell. Every newcomer to the church will also be introduced to one of the existing cells or grouped to form new cells.

3. Support of the Home Cells
Every cell is led by a cell leader who assumes the role of the shepherd of the group. The importance of the cell group ministry can be seen from the fact that every cell comes under the direct supervision and support of an elder or pastor, who not only provides pastoral input to the cell, but also the mentorship of the cell leader. The bi-monthly Cell Leaders’ Meeting acts as a forum for mutual encouragement of cell leaders. It also serves the purpose of mobilizing cell participation in church-wide evangelistic projects. Equipping of the cell leaders is also done in this meeting.

“Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favour of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:44-47)
