Each DG may plan their retreat accordingly with the program that we have here. Some of your retreat may be longer, some shorter. Feel free to customise and allocate the program segment time accordingly to suit your DG’s needs. We also acknowledge that different DGs have different needs. Of the 3 planned sessions, if there is limited time available, you may choose whichever segment that is of greater relevance to your current DG’s needs to discuss. Should you have further questions, feel free to check with your DG supervisors.
Start your retreat together by viewing the introduction video by Pastor Jacob above. This gives an overview of the whole retreat.
This DG retreat material is divided into three segments: Growth, Community, and Mission. Each segment includes:
Capturing the moments: Do take some good shots and video footages of your retreat moments. Should there be opportunities, we would like to encourage DGs to share their retreat learnings with the church.
Journal/minute: Encourage members to come with a journal (can be a physical book or digital journal) to write down what they have learnt. For the discussion questions, it will be good to appoint 1 member in your DG to minute down your discussion, so that there is a point of reference to recall what has been discussed.
Safety: If you are having your DG retreat outside or overseas, do take extra precautions, set some boundaries if necessary, and keep a look out for your members.
Logistics: Please prepare your own logistics. Church will provide the ‘Commitment Paper’ for your consolidation of the retreat. Please arrange with sister Candy or Karen to collect it.
Updating the church: Please update church office of your DG retreat dates— this is for accountability, especially if the whole DG is to be absent from church on a Sunday.
Feedback form: At the end of the retreat, get members to fill up the feedback form.
